Mimi Myint Hpu is a former advertising account executive with DDB Needham International and a restaurant owner in New York City.

From 1988-1994, Mimi worked on several projects involving refugees along the Thai-Myanmar border, lobbied the US congress and the United Nations, and organized events for the Myanmar community in the US.  She was also a co-editor of The Burma Review publication and a founding member of the Burmese Women of New York (BWNY) focusing on educating and integrating recent Myanmar arrivals into the US education system.  Mimi and her husband, Patrick Wong, returned to Yangon in 1995, started the Rainbow Neon advertising company, opened a hotel (SMILE) and restaurant (FRENZ)  for a few years.  They also invest in and develop real estate.  Before returning to the US in 2010, Mimi worked for the American Center in Yangon as an instructor and community organizer.  In 2003, Mimi helped launch the Gitameit Community Learning Center in Yangon ( and worked on cultural exchange programs between Myanmar and the US.

She has an MBA from Assumption University, Bangkok and a BA in Economics from Vassar College, New York.

Mr. Chan is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Kyat Capital Partners. Mr. Chan spent the previous decade as an investment banker on Wall Street closing over $100 billion in financings for a variety of state and local governments, universities, non-profits, corporations, and private developers. During his career as an investment banker, Mr. Chan has completed financings for State Governments such as State of New York, State of California, State of Connecticut, and the District of Columbia, and the Cities of New York,  Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, and Miami, among others. He has project financed airports, tollroads, utilities, sports stadiums, convention centers, hotels, water and sewer systems, and alternative energy power plants.

He volunteers his time as a board member and treasurer for the Bronx Resource Community Center, which assists youths and adults with job placement, computer skills, and GED preparation. He serves on the Advisory Board to Green Equations, a NYC based non-profit that specializes in energy efficiency projects. Mr. Chan is a magna cum laude graduate of Dickinson College, and holds Series 7 and Series 63 Securities licenses.
